Mr. Ubaid Amanullah

Mr. Ubaid Amanullah came back to Pakistan in 1992 after earning a BA Degree in Economics from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, USA. He started working in the energy sector of Pakistan in 1994, when the Government of Pakistan first invited the Private Sector to develop power generation facilities and supply electricity to the national grid. Mr. Amanullah was instrumental in setting up the group’s first IPP, Gul Ahmed Energy Ltd., supplying power to the city of Karachi, which started operations in 1997. Equipped with vast energy sector experience and unmatched Project Development skills, Mr. Amanullah spearheaded the development of various Renewable Energy projects for the Group over the years.
Mr. Amanullah is currently serving as Chief Operating Officer of Gul Ahmed Energy Group & Metro Power Group. His skills in business development, planning and corporate/project finance are key cornerstones in helping the Group to set up and achieve operations for Gul Ahmed Energy Ltd., Gul Ahmed Wind Power Ltd., Gul Ahmed Electric Ltd.. Metro Power Company Ltd., and Metro Wind Power Ltd. He is well known for his hands on approach with project and operations teams, guiding them towards solutions, higher productivity and efficient operations.
